Christopher Brooks

We have quite a few contributors from England and a few from Ireland, but Christopher Brooks is our first — or one of very few — from Scotland, if I’m not mistaken. He’s also a chemistry student and loves the subject so much that he writes about it, even if he has to fictionalize it. His science training must have rubbed off on his approach to composition, because he says he rewrites constantly.

If “Requital” is any indication, Christopher may also be something of a practical joker. If he shows up on your doorstep with a nicely-wrapped gift in hand, invite him in for tea. Then look to see if the present has a lit and sizzling fuse dangling from it. If so, excuse yourself politely and run like crazy. Come to think of it, one of our early stories has a cake recipe that seems to be just one ingredient short of making a bomb. Perhaps Christopher can fill us in...
