Bewildering Stories welcomes...
Camille Parker
Camille is a recent graduate of Texas Tech University, where she majored in English Literature and Philosophy. However, she prefers creative writing.
“Muttawain” is Camille’s first work accepted for publication. We’ve created the category “fictional memoir” especially for it; it is in the form of an essay, and calling it a “short story” would very likely confuse some readers. Camille’s sojourn in Saudi Arabia lends a presumption of authenticity to the setting, although Camille says the incidents are not taken from her own personal experience.
Whatever it is, “Muttawain” is obviously unconventional in its form and intriguing in its depictions of life in present-day Arabia. It won an annual Robert S. Newton award for creative writing at Camille’s university, something for which she can be rightfully proud.
Camille’s bio sketch can be found here.
Welcome to Bewildering Stories, Camille. We hope to hear from you again soon and often.
