Bewildering Stories welcomes...
Amanda Kaye Stein
Writing fiction, poetry, non-fiction articles, and screenplays are but one of Amanda’s vocations; she’s also an actor and artist. She plans to move from Long Island to Los Angeles this year.
“Two Birds” echoes Jean de La Fontaine’s fable Les Deux Pigeons, also adapted in a well-known song by Charles Aznavour. The fable teaches that for lovers, “absence is the greatest of misfortunes.” Amanda’s version says the same while taking a very different tack: love is not regained, for it was never really shared.
