Bewildering Stories welcomes...
William T. Hammann
William lives with his family in Minnesota. He’s a former Army officer and works as a middle manager in a large corporation. His favorite reading is history and fiction, and he says that “old school” science fiction writers have influenced his writing.
“Retire First” is a story based on an old joke: “Why can’t we retire first, when we’re young enough to enjoy it? We can pay it off later.” The story says in effect okay, let’s take that seriously and see where it leads us.
“Retire First” sets out the rules of the game, so to speak, in the form of what amounts to a radio play. It’s also thought-provoking, because it leaves a question open: What happens when somebody bends or even breaks the rules?

Welcome to Bewildering Stories, William. We hope to hear from you again soon and often!
