Bewildering Stories welcomes...
Christian Riley
Christian lives with his family in Northern California. He wrote a financial advice column for a year for the Auburn Sentinel but tired of it and now rises early to write stories about “the weird and fantastic.” He already has two forthcoming for publication.
“Insufficient Transaction” is a satire on the consumer society. It portrays a world in which there is only one retailer, Spend-Go (“Spend your money and get out”?), and savings are prohibited by law.
One might be reminded of the USSR’s Government Universal Store or, in later days and other places, Wal-Mart. At any rate, Christian’s move from financial advice to weird stories is understandable. As we like to say, “There is no story so truly Bewildering as reality.”
Christian Riley’s bio sketch can be found here.
Welcome to Bewildering Stories, Christian. We hope to hear from you again soon and often!
