Bewildering Stories welcomes...
James Ogunjimi
James is a graduate in Industrial Chemistry at Olabisi Onabanjo University, in Nigeria. As a student, he held executive positions in a number of progressive student organizations, and his activism continues. His writing has appeared in many publications in Africa and beyond. One of his poems has won honors in a contest, and another was named “poem of the year” by the International Community of Poets.
”A Promise Kept” is a scary story quite suitable for an issue with a spooky number. Aremu is vividly depicted as a man who is overworked, tired, and frustrated. And when an old woman steps out in front of his car, in traffic, he just can’t take it anymore. There’s a lesson in this cautionary tale. Nobody is entirely blameless. Perhaps the lesson is to practice self-control, lest others not do it.

Welcome to Bewildering Stories, James. We hope to hear from you again soon and often!
