Bewildering Stories welcomes...
Patrick Doerksen
Patrick lives in Victoria, British Columbia, where, he says, flowers bloom in January and “it is difficult to be unhappy.” He has degrees in literature and theology. He has published fiction and poetry in many7 different literary magazines.
“The Monarch’s Madness” answers in a human allegory the question “What do you give a god who has everything?” The answer is, of course, “limits.” Thus, a god or tyrant who is all-powerful, all-knowing and either beneficent or malevolent needs a limit. The logical one is that he can‘t be all-powerful. What is a god or human tyrant to make of that?
