Bewildering Stories welcomes...
Michael Weidman
Michael is a university student living In Pittsburgh. He writes poetry and songs as well as articles.
“My Stranger” is a somewhat cryptic poem. It starts with springtime, sunshine, and cherries in a “dreamland.” But in the middle, “the weight of joy grows heavy” and the “stranger” loses his ambition “in his stalking of the truth.”
Readers may wonder whether the poem depicts the experience of many a university student. The early rush of excitement eventually yields to the realization that university work is very demanding.
