Bewildering Stories welcomes...
Michael Díaz Feito
Michael is from Miami, Florida. He has published extensively.
“The Relic-Mongers” is serialized in issues 722 through 724 but is complete on line as of the first installment.
Readers will be fascinated and, by turns, appalled and highly amused by the story of medieval peddlers trafficking in fake religious relics. Their trip to the Holy Land qualifies them as “sainte-terreurs,” or “Holy-Landers,” which translates into English only as the pun “holy terrors.”
The story takes a decidedly current-events twist in paralleling “fake news,” namely presenting as “news” lies that a credulous public wants to tell itself. And, after readers meet and, especially, hear Manfred of Cologne, they’ll begin to wonder who else is being satirized.
The author has kindly provided translations for the languages other than English. They’re numerous and pose problems in formatting. But that’s the kind of innovation that Bewildering Stories enjoys. As in Cyrano de Bergerac’s The Other World, the challenge allows us to help literature make best use of the Internet and achieve an economy of presentation not available in print.

Welcome to Bewildering Stories, Michael. We hope to hear from you again soon and often!
