Interplanetary Explorer

In the warm, moist Equatorial regions
where caves open up and tunnel down to planet’s core
I, explorer, push through the undergrowth
nosing the damp air of spices, fruits and leaf-floor,
following the light of my tunneling glowworm...
Soon I will move further up the planet
explore her northern hills and plains,
leaving my tunneling worm
to go deep here and seek the inner core.
