Bewildering Stories welcomes...
John McBain
John has, among many other distinctions, that of being the father of one of our Coordinating Editors, Alison McBain. He lives with his family, including pets, in the Santa Cruz mountains of California. He has been a product safety engineer for more than thirty years and has been a fan of science fiction for more than twice as long.
“Danger, Will Robinson!” is an essay that is about as humorous and good-natured as one can write concerning product safety. The title will resound immediately to science-fiction fans who remember the 1960’s TV series Lost in Space, where a kind of Swiss Family Robinson has Robbie, a friendly robot, that frequently warns Will Robinson, played by young Billy Mumy, of impending peril.
The essay’s prime reader interest will be the application of the formula for risk. How shall it be applied in everyday life? And how might it be applied in the future?
John McBain’s bio sketch can be found here.
Welcome to Bewildering Stories, John. We hope to hear from you again soon and often. And thanks for the heads-up about safety!
