Bewildering Stories welcomes...
Michael Sharlow
Mike lives in La Crosse, Wisconsin. He has worked in a cemetery, in structural design and, presently, in Special Educaiton and as an employment trainer for persons with disabilities. A novel of his has been well received, and he has published several short stories.
“The Rock Fight” is straightforward contemporary social realism. It takes a close look at a group of boys of about the age of Mark Twain’s Tom Sawyer. But readers will find the “contemporary” aspect disquieting. No bucolic, 19th-century small-town life for these kids. Rather, they show that human beings can be as fiercely territorial as any other primate.
