Minds fly fast now on wing
Amongst the Flocks of Swifts
Rapidly gliding above ivory cliffs
Raging rivers of delight
Lush cool forests
Ancient cities all in white
Nesting in ancient homes
Each flock mind rebuilding when they need
Never wondering how it began
Who cares?
Why worry?
For they are the Swift
Earth was always thus
So they dream their dreams
Live their perpetual lives
Plan their schemes
With dynasties arising and collapsing a night
With technologies doing likewise
Still someday maybe they will reach the stars
Meeting the ones who started their rise
The ones who abandoned them so long ago
Who have now learned and can teach
Value in a life more slow
